Three men, all in their 20s, were killed in separate road accidents in Beirut Tuesday – two as a result of speeding and a third in a hit-and-run crash. A security source told The Daily Star that Elie Elias, 25, was killed in a hit-and-run accident at 2:30 a.m. in Zouk Mosbeh, northeast of Beirut. He said the driver fled the accident while Red Cross volunteers took Elias’ body to a nearby hospital. Separately, 21-year-old Rabih Ali Lamaa was killed after his speeding car flipped over several times on the airport highway and knocked over a lamppost. His brother, Hadi Lamaa, 23, was in the front passenger seat and was also killed in the 4 a.m. accident.
